Wire Question

MOPO
Hello,

Do you think that the quality of the wires used has an effect on the parasitic noise of some pedals.

Is the choice of cables important in our beloved pedals?

If you think yes that it should use to optimize the sound quality at best?

Thank you

When you ask quality, are you asking more directly the diffs between size and/or stranded, pre-bonded, and solid or are you asking if the outer shielding is the question?
Yeah, 220, 221. Whatever it takes.

Re: Wire Question

All the elements constituting the wires are to be taken into account, it seems to me.
To do the quality on sometimes does not bring anything .... except for more difficulty of assembly.

For example, what is the use of taking yarns bigger (more difficult to implement) if in terms of quality it brings nothing at all.

Multibrand or single-strand ...... Quality of plastic .......................

I do not have the answers.

I just made a pedal with Input and Armored Output .........
I do not know if it is really effective ............ but I have good conscience :).

All these questions for the end I hope to improve ............ if it is still possible :-)

for me i feel like using a good wire just makes everything easier, and can help with noise. that does not mean that the wire is expensive. for instance, using a good bonded stranded wire is miles a head of using solid core, and this is for a few reasons. first, it doesn't break on you when moving it around. second, using bigger wire can be difficult to get into the holes in the board, both vero and PCB, i like 24g. . i find that using bonded stranded wire holds it position as well, so i can bend the wire however i want and it stays where i want it. as for noise reduction i hear a reduction in noise, it's not massive, but at least to my ears i do hear a difference. remember that the plastic acts as insulation as well, so the better the insulation the less outside interference you get. i personally like the stuff from smallbear, link. not just great wire, but cheap as chips too. small enough to get into tight spaces, highly moveable, sturdy as could be, and seems to have good insulation.

not to go off topic, but the same holds true about guitar cables. i would swear up and down forever that cheap cables are just as good as expensive ones, but you know what i go two from lava cable, when they were buy 1 get 1 free, and i shit you not the difference is night and day, and travis will back me up on this cause we bought them at the same time. not just tonally better due to the capacitance of the cable, but they'll will last forever, hell there's a lifetime guarantee. btw, they're not the holy shit they're expensive ones, but their middle of the road ones.

as for using shielded cable to wire up pedals. in notoriously noisy builds shielded cable can make all the difference in the world.

but, all in all keep in mind that it's all a chain. if something in the chain isn't doing what it should be as well as it could be then everything goes to hell. you want to limit as many weak links as possible to your signal chain. also, i'm not promoting these specific products or anything, it's what i use and based on my experience.

Exactly! I prefer SB's 22g pre-bonded. As rocket says, it does what you need it to do and is rebust enough to take a small amount of beating without breaking (unlike solid core).
Yeah, 220, 221. Whatever it takes.

Thank you for your answers, I will test the threads 24 Pre-Bond, Colors, 25 Ft. Spool if I can find it in Europe.
Currently I use this one

In Europe the diameter is usually shown in mm, so I don't know if you'll find 24 AWG (American wire gauge) over there.

Regarding the OP, I like the stuff from smallbear that Zach linked but I prefer 22 or 20 AWG (thicker) and I like to use solid core and shielded wire as well
