a simple switch an idiot (me) can build

dale
I have a great little 18 watt Marshall clone I built that has 2 channels.
I have a pedal board that I use all the time but want an A/B
switcher that I can use to play through the pedalboard to the amp and then
switch to channel 2 with no effects. The amp has no channel switching
option and I want to make a 'non-powered' A/B switch.
I can follow instructions real good and have built 40 or 50 of the
tag effects but am lost to theory. Can anyone guide me to a build?

You'll need to find out how your amp switches. If it's just a single contact being made or broken to select the channel then you could use a 4PDT stomp, 2 poles used as a true bypass loop, 1 pole used for LED illumination, and 1 pole used for amp switching. Then you could have the true bypass loop in circuit with the amp channel you want effects with, and the tb loop bypassed for the channel you don't want effects with.

Open up the amp switch and draw out how it is all connected up, then post it here.

When you say your amp has no switching option, you mean to use the second channel you have to physically move the cord to the other jack right?

If so you just need a simple a/b switch. you could wire it up with a spdt or 1/2 of a dpdt.

guitar--> input jack----> stomp switch---> output one or two
