acapulco gold: lm386 gets extremely hot, only crackling sound

let me start by saying that this is my fourth one of these. all the others worked but for some reason this one isn't. and it's driving me nuts.

the bottom 386 gets super hot, like it would burn me if I had power plugged in longer than 6 seconds.

i've checked all the connections, continuity across all traces and cuts, replaced the bottom 386, replaced the diode. I DID find one solder bridge between 9v and the row below it that I fixed. i haven't replaced the power jack because i don't have another.

could it be the power jack? i honestly don't know what else it could be. are the parts already done for? i'm losing my mind over here!

hi there mate. i've never had a burned jack, but you could check continuity to that too.
i guess you might have burned something else too with that bridge you had, which could cause all those problems. i would change 1uf too. good luck
