amp cuts out?? Faulty pedal?

Hi There,
I use a Marshall DSL and have a boss chrus,boss digital reverb and Boss delay going through the effects loop. My tube screamer etc is direct into the fron.
Ive had a prob now for a couple of months in that the sound just drops to nothing and when I unplug the effects loop its fine.Ive checked/replace leads,etc even the head is new and Ive still got this prob.
I done about an hour and a half last night at the gig until it happened again.
Its driving me nuts.
Can anyone help please?

Sounds like you have a problem with the amp itself, I can't see it being a problem with the pedals. Whereabouts are you Terry?

Are you saying the amp is new? If so Marshall will repair it under warranty.

This is a nearly new head that I bought replace the old one. Same thing happening?
I just thought there may be a way to check my pedals to see if its a short or something?

Strange it happened with the old one, could be an inherent problem with the amp. I would always suggest returning it to Marshall in Milton Keynes - their service guys are awesome.

Actually,it was there a month or so ago for a new valve board,service etc.,those sockets were replaced.

Not sure what could be the issue, but I didn't see you you tried plugging directly from the guitar to the amp. If it works fine like that then it's got to be the pedals. I find it odd that a second amp would have the same problem, that makes me think theres something going on in the pedal chain. This is definitely a major pain in the ass and must be infuriating to say the least.

Is this a NEW DSL or one of the ones from 10 years ago. The new ones have a daughterboard for the loop with a pin connector. Make sure that daughterboard is VERY well seated. I had the same problem in my newer DSL40C. I opened up the amp and the board was sitting on TOP of the insert where the pins go it (pins laying and barely making contact on the receptacle).

Does your amp have a push-button to turn on/off the effects loop?

Start by eliminating one pedal at a time and see when the signal comes back. It's the only thing I can think about doing to isolate the problem pedal.

This is a 2004 model studio use only.yep its got the button on the back.
Its def a pedal prob I think,Ive got a feeling now that it may be the reverb?
