ehx small clone build not working help

strassercaster
hello i just finished the small clone build on tagboard. i have triple checked for cuts links and solder points no bridges. it passes signal with a slight volume drop but no effect or alteration on the guitar. i have 8.7 volts on almost every leg of every chip and the transistors all have 8.7 on 2-3 legs. i know the chips all have a couple ground legs so i am somehow igetting voltage to ground. could a bad chip or transistor be my issue? this was a complicated build and i painstakingly took my time double and triple checking every cut link placement ect. i have rechecked everything visually i did find an unsoldered leg on the 4047 chip  it wasnt making contact i thought i had solved it right off the bat but nothing. i have adjusted the 1 00k trimmer it has no affect . i was thinking of replacing the transistor . the correct voltages are posted in the build page. mine are all 8.7 on the transistors the 4047 chip has one or two legs that arent  8.7 and are close to the proper voltages. any ideas or reports of problems with this build? i did see on the jbuild page someone built it and passed signal just like mine but didnt chorus anything. thanks in advance

figured it out. my mn3007 chip socket was bad the 4th leg wasnt making contact. replaced it and now my only issue is the dreaded pop when switching it on.

the switch pop is normal even on the real deal from EHX. mark did post where to put pulldown resistors to try and stomp it. i've been too lazy to put them on mine. the funny thing is you may notice that if you hit the switch a few times it will go away, then eventually comes back. it's one of the quarks of the effect.

That's how it usually happens. The reason it happens is that the input or output cap is charging up a voltage which discharges suddenly when you click the stomp. The sudden discharge results in a pop

After you hit the switch several times you can fully discharge the cap and it won't pop, but of course it will charge back up

understood. i am going to try the pull down 1m on input and 100k on output. i wonder if i could just trick it with a built in looper where the effect is always on ?

Probably not in this case, since the layout is designed for true bypass already. The effect is already always on, it just has its inputs and outputs disconnected (or grounded) in bypass, which is the same thing a bypass looper will do for you. A looper is essentially just an external bypass switch. If the pedal in question is already true bypass, then a looper is redundant.

The pulldowns should work fine, though.

I built this one and it never pops with the pulldowns.
