hey stassercaster, if you want a cheap straight clone in a an original small stone style metal box you might want to consider the behringer vp-1 vintage phaser. £17 at amazon atm

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Behringer-VP1-VP-1-Vintage-Phaser/dp/B000KIPTE4/

here's a photo-diagram thing i made for fsb of how to mod it for true bypass. pretty easy. there are few threads for it at fsb, one for true bypass (soulsonic started thread), another for rate led (pink jimi photon), and another for how to strip the board out and insert it into other pedals as an inline phaser (maetsun). i think jimi even toyed with converting some of the values to make it more vibe like.
excuse the clunky photo (think my photoshop was down that week) but hopefully it's pretty self-explanatory.

i replaced the knob with a 27mm moogy style one, because they are erotic. and i also keep meaning to wet-and-dry the graphics off to leave it shiny silver or spray it white. not because i have any problem with behringer (it's a great pedal) but i don't like any text on pedals. it confuses me. i prefer easy basic symbols (orange style) or basic 'v' for volume etc. i'm a 'basic bitch' as kate moss would say.

anyway, i thought i'd mention it as i tend to save my building effort for things i either can't buy decent supercheap clones of, or can't easily modify cheap clones up to meet original specs. partly because i'm painfully slow at building (combination of health issues and newbiness) and partly because it frees up time for writing and playing, which is what i'm really into. maybe if i was a better builder i would be able to do things quick and it wouldn't seem such a bargain. but while it remains a mission for me i jump on the metal-cased tone-for-tone cheap clones.

an option if you are curious.

maybe save your 3080s for some peachy vintage rarity? of which there are many.

thanks. i actually have about twenty store bought pedals. My goal is to build one of everything  i want and like .on tagboard. however the last pedal i vought was a behringer space c. its  clone  of the boss dimension c and a darn good one at that.i have built 14 for my self and sold 12 to pay for my builds and some groceries he he

hey stassercaster, here's one of the outside. it's basically a small stone type metal box. i put the moogy knob on because i like them on everything.

here'sa nother of the insides after the mod, but minus the explanatory text.

basically, to do the mod just follow the intructions in the text box in the image i posted earlier.

the square with the number and letters in is a diagram of how the wires connect to the 3pdt.

basically cut everything off the faux stomp switch the pedal comes with, and reconnect those wires according to the diagram.

the points numbered 12345 on the 3pdt correspond with the wires coming out of the white plastic socket i've marked 12345. the other ends of those wires are what you will have just cut off the behringer faux stomp switch.

x jumpers to z on the spdt. y jumpers to 1. in addition to the connections shown. this is described in the instructions in the image.

where it says 'cut red wire on this socket' is where the loose wire you can see floating free (completely visible in the image without instructions) used to connect. you can cut it off altogether. i just left it still attached at one end as a precaution in case the mod didn't work and i needed to reassemble. now it works i could actually just remove the red altogether.

i keep meaning to do the flashing rate led mod. will probably get around to it in the next month or so. will post intructions here on how to do that too. it's very simple.

whether you build or buy supercheap, it's a great phaser. but don't just take my word for it, ask catweasel...
