germ tone bender squeal?

adapt
hi guys, i remembered reading somewhere on here about running a 10 ohm resistor in series with 9v will stop the squeal in germanium designs... is that true? how would you do this in a positive ground pedal? am i making this whole thing up? where am i?

I'd use 100 ohm personally, but yes a current limiting resistor in series with the supply can help reduce noise.  For the positive ground circuits, put it in series with the -9V supply wire
