inductor + resistor parallel or series circuit question

boratto
i am wondering what happens if use inductor + resistor parallel, in a power supply filter circuit, like Huminator, instead just the resistors? And in series?

It would create an RL series filter.  Basically the same theory as the RC filters you see more often in these circuits.  Inductors are a bit of a pain to use because the reasonable size ones are in very low values and so you need very low resistor values to use with them to be in a useful frequency range which seriously reduces your options.

RC is a much better choice for us.  The common values can make filters over a wide, useful frequency range with common resistor values.  This allows us to use pots to good affect in these pedals and make a big impact on the audio frequencies.
