If its the rub a dub deluxe with the brick-3, looks like pin 5 connects to Tone Pot lug-3.

Can you remove the Tone pot?

Or if the Tone Pot is connected to the board with wires, disconnect the wires from lugs 1 & 3.

Not sure it will help, but worth a try if you don't care for it as is.
