Wiring color conventions - what's your method?

Trying to get better organized with my builds - specifically, the internal wiring, and I was wondering if anyone used a certain color coding 'convention': obviously red and black for power, and I have been using white for un-effected (input) signal and blue for signal out (from board).
After that, though...*shrug*. I know it can be 'whatever you like/works for me/etc.'...but trying to color-code as much as possible helps me to identify the circuit path a bit better. As in, I can look in the guts and see 'purple' wires and know that they're from the tone pot, the green is for signal to/from the jacks, and so on.
I was just wondering if there was any kind of convention or precedent for the 'other' wiring paths, or if I'm over-complicating things.
Thanks, all.
