tim escobedo ms 20 LP filter

Woody85

Would anyone be willing to do up a Vero layout for the attached schematic? I've searched and searched but couldn't find a verified Vero layout anywhere.

Thanks!

Similar but not quite the same. The schematic I posted is only a lpf and designed for a 9v power supply.

The Eric Archer VCF is pretty cool. It has a blend control, the resonance pot takes it all the way up to self oscillation and you can use an expression pedal to make it into the world's squelchiest wah pedal. I breadboarded it and shot a video a while back.

Nice! I was looking at that build as well. The perf layout is a bit intimidating with the wiring, but it may be worth a shot. It's funny, I've found many variations on the ms 20 lpf, but no verified vero layouts.

Wow, great video! I'm building one of these when I get some spare time. How did you convert it for expression pedal use, nocentelli? I couldn't see it in the pdf.

It just replaces the Freq pot in the top schematic.

Lug 1 to GND
Lug 2 to the 100Ks
Lug 3 to 9V

Hmm and you  could make this envelope-driven in the same fashion couldn't you?

Hi Ciaran. Cheers for answering. Just to clarify what goes where on the stereo jack for the expression pedal... would it be wired up like this?

Lug 1 to GND: sleeve
Lug 2 to the 100k: tip
Lug 3 to 9V: ring

Yes, that is how the pot in my EV-5 expression pedal is wired, I assume it is standard for most expression pedals.

I think you're correct. Unfortunately for me the Line6 EX-1 uses a mono jack so I guess I'll need to look for an old wah enclosure to build this inside or just buy a new expression pedal.

If you were feeling adventurous you could mod the line 6 pedal to include a switching stereo jack socket and wire the pot to this.  TRS when a jack is inserted...TS when there isn't.  £0.70 mod and job done!

Great idea! I'll try that. Cheers. :-)
