2 grounds ?

chicago
I have been looking at layouts for my second build something easy and I noticed that some layouts have a ground from the board and one from a pot, do these grounds just tie together and go to the dc or does the one from the board go to the dc and the one from the pot go to the output jack?

All of your grounds must be connected to each other. Using a DMM check continuity between each ground point then everything should be okay

All grounds need to be connected it does not matter where.  Have an extra hole that is grounded on the vero?  attach the pot ground their.  Want to daisy chain the ground off the board to the pot to the power supply ground, sure why not.  Have multiple pots that need a ground, run seperate wires or daisy chain your choice.

Beware creating a ground loop though.
If it wasn't for this website I would definitely have a life.

What I do is I check the layout to see if there's a nice ground strip (usually at the bottom) that has a few holes unused. Everything that goes to ground (sometimes all pots have one lug going to ground) I just take a wire from the lug to the ground strip. Works fine and adds a few extra wires which makes the circuit more stable inside if you don't use standoffs like me.
