Hey Rocket, Super neat,i wish i could box like that.
My latest attempt is the rub-a-dub reverb. I followed the perfboard method , and although slightly more long winded, i'm really pleased with how much more tidy it was.
thanks man. it took a long time for me to get my wiring where i'm happy. still wont open my early builds because of how bad the wiring is. from what i remember calling it a birdsnest would be an understatement. it just takes time, and the more you build the better and neater it gets.
btw, with the spelling mistake. it's funny because even well known companies, boutique and not do the same shit. i decided to go back, sand it all down and re-etch it. i've got the time to do so and now it really bothers me. haha. this time ensuring the spelling is right.
Sadly not Frank, The yellow things are small pieces of vero (4x1). I didn't like running more than one wire into each of the dc jack terminals so i cut a small piece of board and run the wires into that before it goes back to the jack. I had the idea when i was making a valvecaster with a switchable naga viper treble boost, had about 10 ground wires and nowhere for them all to go.
I'm intending to get some push fit connectors and try out making a removable board but they are on the slow boat from china so it will have to wait.
I'm sure the hot glue would be enough - it's a plastic after all, so should be a perfect insulating material...
Most hot glues are insulating, but some of them are not. Conductivity is rarely (if ever) noted on the packaging, so if your builds start failing after you buy a new batch of hot glue sticks, consider checking the glue for continuity.
I built the colorsound Tremolo recently. I tried rocking it before boxing but it was oscilating like a mother! I did everything to debug it but nothing helped. So I said screw it and boxed it. And the pedal worked no problems. I think it must have been the Haas effect or something. So I guess it's okay to take the risk from time to time but don't have high expectations and be prepared to have wasted lots of time and work on a broken pedal...
