Alright, its been a while and I think I'm going to give it another go. Wish me luck.

This has been one of my favorites. I built it without a starve pot and with both switches permenantly on. While it sounded great it really needs the starve pot. I have a B10k in it now but it had the same issue as my Great Destroyer had with the bleed through. I need to get a B2k in there. It fit nicely in a 1590A.

Just got done testing and all was well this time. The 2K works well here. I still think this would benefit from a bit of boost on the front end. I will prob add a SHO as well as putting the starve  on a 2nd stomp.

Hi Silver Blues :D

I was building the Shiva from your layout and I think that we can reduce the space a little bit.

Unfortunately I don't have any edit software, so I hope you can understand my very bad notes....

Yeah I get what you're saying, and you're right. This was one of the first layouts I ever made so obviously there's going to be a few things not totally optimized  and also I tend to not like putting multiple electrolytic caps so close to each other because in reality they don't fit on the board nicely. Thanks though and feel free to build it like that!

don't worry, your layout is OK!
Those electrolytic aren't too close....finally I've built it on 17x9

Here's a new, slightly smaller layout as per Giudis' recommendations. Should still be verified as I haven't really changed anything, just moved it up and over one row/column.

Re: Dwarfcraft Shiva

I remember seeing a picture of the guts somewhere that the LEDs are red. I have green in mine as was suggested and it seems a little off but still very good. The sweep of the texture pot is very minimal though, could a C1m help with that?

The voltage drop increases with wavelength, so you can change the character of pedals like this by swapping LED colour.

I put clear reds in and like it more thank the green. Will diffused make a difference as opposed to the clear? Also has anyone else found the sweep of the texture pot very one sided? I've tried A1m, B1m and C1m as well as a few other values with not much difference.

Re: Dwarfcraft Shiva

If that was about the Shiva, I tested out the C1m again and it works best. I'm reboxing it with the starve pot on a foot switch so it'll be more versatile. I like the glitchy sounds but it's one of my favorite builds without the starve engaged and with the octave switched on.

If it was about the Mets, did you see that game? I'm glad they knocked out the Dodgers but it was a great series and they earned that win, should be a good series with Chicago but I hope they take them out quick. Sorry to derail the topic but it's usually rough being a New York Mets fan, gotta enjoy the ride.

Hey Rocket, I know you're somewhat close by to me (Wanaque) and wanted to give you a heads up about a place up here. There's a shop on Route 23 in Pompton Plains, Wayne Electronics that has a nice selection of things in a pinch. They stock primarily NTE stuff but I just picked up two NTE102's (2N404) for $5 each and thought it was a pretty good deal. They owner (I believe he's the owner) is a nice guy too. You should check it out if you need something quick and are up for a ride. They're a little pricey with some things but still worth checking out. No pedal type enclosures or foot switches though.

That was about the mets, and yea I saw the tail end of the game. Don't want to jinx anything, but all I can say is so far so good.

Yea man I'm not that far from you, I'm more central nj, but that's not too far from me. I haven't been there, but may have to just take a trip up and check it out. The only electronics store down my way is way way way over priced for common parts, so it would be good to have another place to go. Thanks for the heads up on this place.

I don't think mine works exactly like it should. Single note's are fine but when playing chords it seems cancelling out the sound (getting less loud when playing hard). Also it sounds best (not good) when I orient that 33uF electrolytic the other way around.

Re: Dwarfcraft Shiva

I'm still screwing around with the texture pot. I have a B25k in there now and it seems to give me full range of the control. I also tried a C50k which wasn't bad. I'd like to give an A25k and C25k a shot too but that will have to wait for awhile. I also tried B10k but it's useless. I also wired the starve in reverse to behave as it does in the demo videos. I'm not sure how it compares to an original but it's interesting and unique... I like it.

Here's a soundclip.

Nope, pretty cool though, no? Just acrylic paint blended with other colors.  If anyone read the Walking Dead comics, they'd know where the tiger came from.
