Dwarfcraft Shiva

Silver Blues
If you guys are going to flush the old Requests section, I thought I'd re-post the only verified layout that's come out of me thus far, in case anyone else wants it.

Thanks to hop_picker for verifying and hope you're enjoying it!

Silver, D1 and D2 are 3mm or 5mm leds?

Re: Dwarfcraft Shiva

As the original schematic never specified, I assumed they were 3mm reds only because of the commonality of use. I believe hop_picker built this layout with the reds and was satisfied, so I would suggest you start there. Of course, you can experiment and see what you like, that's the beauty of DIY

There you have it, a definitive answer. If that's what was in the original, why not try those.

Cool. I see some pics of the pedal, and it has a second footswitch to activate "Starve". Does it is necessary? If yes, any chance on a offboard wiring diagram?

I'd imagine not.

Hi Silver,

does the 2nd stomp appear on this one?

Re: Dwarfcraft Shiva

induction
Yes, it's at the top left of the schematic.

It's not necessary, but it allows you to select between having the Starve pot maxed and a preset position. Without the switch, you just have to dial the Starve knob to where you want it. The switch is only useful if you plan to switch Starve settings during a song.

If you want to implement it, you can use an SPDT stomp switch (or a DPDT if you want an additional led just for the Starve function).

- Wire the 9V lead from the adapter/battery to the lug 2 of the Starve switch.
- Wire lug 3 of the Starve pot to lug 3 of the Starve switch.
- Wire lug 2 of the Starve pot to lug 1 of the Starve switch and to the top left hole in the vero (where the lead marked "Starve" is on the layout).

Thank you! just a dumb one: no more 9v to Starve 3, as marked on vero?

Right. That connection will be made through the Starve switch instead.

Hi all,
I just built this up and think i may have a small issue. It seems that my input signal isn't hot enough. I only seem to get good volume and effect when the texture is at one precise spot. I also found that if I run a boost before it seems to work fine.  I made one change by adding a diode for polarity protection. Could this be the culprit? Is this the norm with this circuit? I plan to meter for continuity and check for bridges when I get home but thought I would run it by you fellas. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I never figured it out. I can't remember if I flipped the transistors or not. I ended up adding a SHO boost to the front end and have a workable pedal that I never boxed. It sounds cool like that but prob not as intended. I may rebuild it at some point

Re: Dwarfcraft Shiva

hey all.

first of all thank you so much for all these amazing boards and the great pool of knowledge you have all created here in this forum.

i am pretty new to this and was looking at the layout of this shiva board. i am a bit confused, since I don't see any connection to the bypass and starve foot switches in the drawing.

did you leave them out? i thought you might, when looking at the thread here and seeing the question by boratto regarding the starve switch.

so how would the bypass be included in this schematic? i think that must be super easy, but i am really new to this and just did one simpler pedal before.

thank you guys.

Hi! You can follow Savvas' link above for instructions on how to wire the bypass, and I have not included the Starve switch in the layout but it's an extremely simple addition, just place an SPDT stomp between 9v and Starve 3 as shown in the schematic.
