Having build problems too!! HELP, PLEASE HELP!

I've wired two effects in one enclosure, a compressor with the EH LPB1 (the one with the trimmer).  I've used two DPDT's as I can't fit 3PDT's in there, both switches have the millenium bypass.  With just the compressor on I get a noisy oscillating high pitched squeal & a present but very weak signal, it (squeal) goes once I switch the boost on & the unit comes to life, sounds great.  Flick the boost off, squeal comes back.  I can't switch the boost independently either.

I'm guessing it's my wiring at fault here as both circuits work fine when I have tried them independently.  I've wired them so they just share the same power lines & I/O sockets.  Do I need to wire them so the out put of one effect goes to the input of another, kinda how it would chain on a pedal board?

Yes, I always wire my double pedals this way:

Input jack tip to effect 1 3PDT Input lung ->  output lung of effect 1 3PDT's to 3PDT Input lung of second effect -> 2nd effect 3PDT's out lung to Output jack tip.  The rest of wiring, the usual way.

No problem this way!

Are both effects supposed to be usable independently or did you want the boost to only work when the compressor is engaged?

(ps: VERY off topic, but did you enjoy the Cable gig at the garage? I ended up being pretty busy that day and arrived a lot later than I hoped, missing Cold Pumas and the first song of two from Cable :( Still, great gig and great crowd I thought!)

Yes, effects to work independently of one another!  

And yes I effin' well loved the cable gig. Missed most of the cold pumas too (through choice, not my cup of tea). But made sure I rocked my tits off for the cable set. Crowd was ace, I was at the front loving it all mate!  Got a hug off Millsy & my photo taken with Matt!  Like a kid all over again mate!
