Interesting request - Bass signal splitter + EQ + overdrive

PMowdes

I had a request from a bass playing pal of mine who is obsessed with Rob DeLeo from the Stone temple pilots.

He wants a pedal that in his words

"basically the idea is to have a pedal where the input is then split into 2 signals that go to two different EQs, one (on the left) that just lets through a shit load of bass frequencies and the other (on the right) that lets through a lot of top (no nasty mid-range), then there is a knob on the pedal that lets you balance between these two signals and the top end split also has a knob that goes from clean (left) to Fuzz/overdriven (right)"

I'm guessing that he wants to use two amps, one with the low end and another with high end with added fuzz capability.

Anyone got any ideas how i can achieve this?

Cheers in advance

Could i use something like the amz channel splitter??

 http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/amz-2-channel-splitter.html

I was thinking i could run one output to an eq like this

http://guitar-fx-layouts.42897.x6.nabble.com/Musicman-Bass-Preamp-td12618.html

And the other to a bass overdrive, something like the blueberry or green russian fuzz perhaps.

All in one stomp.

Think it could work??

Maybe using something like that?

Problem I see is that he doesnt want mid freq to be fuzzed/ overdriven so maybe there would have to be applied some mid notch in the high pass filter part?
I love stp too, Robert de Leo is a great player and his sound is great too. I was thinking of doing this too. Using my compressor at the low freq and some dirty at the top. I didnt think about rolling back mids really..

You can see in sound.westhost that he has this too,
http://sound.westhost.com/project09.htm

If you can take the calculator and make mid crossover the size you and your friend want it, maybe between 330 and 1k5? But it all depends on everyones gear...
I think i would go with a variable high pass filter then crossover, with the lows being compressed and in the high part, i would use one parametric eq and after that the green muff and blueberry... Or whatever flavour your friend likes to destroy his sound, in my case, the fuzz comes from a jordan bosstone and Im happy with that.  well, thats really my plan, and Im not an expert, lets hear what others have to say

I found this

which i think is pretty much what he wants to do in a single pedal, perhaps without dual output.  Now to find a schematic :-S
