Look what I got! :D

Silver Blues
I love this day! I went to one of my local electronics places looking for a switch. Long story short, I didn't find the switch but I ended up with this:

I got:

6x TL062CP
3x LF351N
1x LM833N
3x metal can LM308s
2x metal can SK9377 (CA3140 equivalents)
65x 1N69A germanium diodes
58x 1N60 germanium diodes
23x MPF102
50x 2N5088
54x MPSH10
5x 2n4407
a Grayhill SP12T rotary switch

and I only stopped because the store was closed! There's so much more awesome NOS stuff in their warehouse, that I'm going to go back and sift through (and test a bunch more germanium transistors). 10,000,000x thanks to them for this! It all started with him leaving a bag of diodes on the table for me to see and ended up with the likelihood that I'll buy up all his NOS! Prices were fucking amazing too. <3

Nice find, especially when it is unexpected

Why do I never come across stuff like this?

Agreed. That's awesome. The only electronics store near me is too pricey and I only go there when I need something in an emergency. Like I needed a certain resistor and it cost me $1.20 for 4. Maybe Tayda and ebay spoiled me, but it just seams nuts. I saw pots in the all and they want $8-$16 each. I was all like . Sucks cause some of the guys that work there are awesome and super helpful.

Yeah this is generally my experience with my two stores as well. the guy I got these from is a freaking angel, super helpful, friendly and just generally awesome as you say. However, parts are hit and miss. They want like $8 for full-size Alpha pots, $7 for a 3PDT footswitch, $12 for those momentary SPSTs for relay bypass stuff, etc... most mechanical stuff is pretty ridiculous there, and often semiconductors are fairly high-priced as well, but I haven't found a better deal than their 1/4" and DC jacks and most passive components are reasonable. They were (are) just having a blowout on old shit.

I'm super happy about this, first time ever I come across something like this. I didn't think it was possible where I live. Will post updates when I go back for more, because I will go back for more

Sorry to have to tell you this, but those metal can LM308s are no good.

Worse than that, they are at risk of ruining all your other parts through super scientific cross contamination, which is totally legit and not something I just made up 2 minutes ago.

Even worse, disposal of those contaminated parts is usually quite expensive.

But, since I think you're a good guy and I feel for your situation, I'll offer disposal services for those metal can LM308s free of charge.

I'll send you my address so you can ship them to me for proper disposal.
Q: Why is a drummer like a scud missile?
A: Both are offensive and inaccurate.

Oh hah... turns out that bag of blue diodes actually contains 50 1N69A, 12 1N67, one 1N56A, one 1N38A and one mystery diode that I can't find any information about labelled 1N8592. Cool

I'm sorry to contradict Jopn, but the only safe place to get safely rid of thiis can LM308, is in Spain, very near my home by the way, so, you just have to send 'em here and I'll use them... I mean, disposal them at very low cost.

Great stuff Silver Blues.  We're all pretty geeky over these things, but that's a great find.

Last summer, my family and I were visiting relatives in Longmont, Colorado.  On a whim, I decided to see if there were any electronics surplus shops in town.  Sure enough, I came across...

Luddite Electronics

I went to the shop and got to meet the proprietor.  As soon as I started asking about CA3130s and MPF102s he had listed on his website, his face lit up and we had a great conversation.  Found out he repairs guitar amps and had a ton of vintage electronics parts.  Unfortunately, I could stay long but was able to get some CA3130s, MPF102s, and a couple other parts before I left.  Didn't get a chance to go back, but if I'm out there in the future I'll visit his shop again.  BTW - he does sell through eBay if anyone wants to order stuff from him.

Anyone else geek out at old electronics shops while on vacation??
