I've actually been tinkering whilst having a look at the
Supergroup's preamp schematic.
Whilst I think it's fairly safe to imagine a Naga Viper at the front (possibly with a fixed level out) like it's the case with the Galileo, I'm looking at the preamp JFET adaptation. I've drawn down a mu amp first and foremost and I'm not trying to decide whether I should go the ROG way (one JFET per half tube) on the post gain stage or mu amp (U2B) + single JFET (U2A). Anyone has a more in depth knowledge to have a stab at whichever might be a potentially suitable way to tackle it?
Also the Supergroup has a Marshall style 3 band EQ, I guess a good way to implement the Presence control could be to whip out a Duncan TSC chart and look for any peculiar general frequency response (if any) and then simulate the presence control (which I believe is the control in the
power amp schem) or keep the high mid/high end nice and open and add a reversed low pass filter to tame it to taste?
Just thinking in theory while a bit bored at work you see, forgive me should I have gone a bit off the rail here...! :)
