Trim Pots and Noise.

Jon Rep
I just read that Trim Pots can cause Noise in a Circuit, and was wondering whether after you find the sweet spot in a circuit you should  replace the Trim Pot with the appropriate Resistor or is this excessive? Has anyone experienced noise from Tim Pots???     A circuit that comes in mind for me that I have since recycled is RunOfGroove Eighteen.  I  really liked this pedal but the background noise made me give up on it. It has 3 Trim Pots and I am now wondering whether these could have been the cause of the noise. Thanks.

I've made quite a few fuzz faces with biasing trimpots and I've never encountered any noise due to them. I'm no expert but isn't a trimpot just a mini pot so shouldn't really be any noisier from I can gather.

I've made quite a few ROG circuits and I find that trimpots can add noise to the circuit. I just built the orange peel MKII and after replacing the second trimpot with a fixed resistor (after finding the correct value with a trimpot) the pedal is ALOT quieter now.
