what's your oldest build still in regular use?

  I am accumulating pedals that seem to have a bit of dust on them.
 I don't dislike them, I'm just not using them.
 I remember being excited to build them.

 There are a couple that are still being used regularly.

A Timmy overdrive that I will say the same thing about.  built July 2014
A Way Huge Piercing Moose  octave up fuzz. clearest octave up and thick regular fuzz. built February 2014

Oddly I didn't begin making Big muffs until 2016. the Green Russian still is used.

 Pedals come and go. What has stood the test of time for you?

Since I got my Axe FX I pretty much stopped using pedals, and those few I still use are usually commercial ones. I still use my custom looper and splitter router builds though. Loopers are always cool to have keep pedals out of the signal chain when not needed, and my buffered splitter and router is always a must as I like to have one box on my board where to plug in all my offboard cables.

My pedalboard overdrive tones are mostly Klon-based right now, and I'm using some home-built pedals for those.  For delay, chorus, compression, tuning etc. I use various commercial pedals.  I did try using an all-in-one pedalboard solution for live use (a Digitech RP1000), but I found the tones were just OK (not stellar) compared to my pedals - plus it decided to fail on me in the middle of a gig!   So I don't use it any more.

I still enjoy building pedals though, and my recent "discovery" is that I much prefer getting a good part of my overdriven tone from my amp (controlled by my guitar's volume knob), and pedals like the Klon or King of Tone can help push my amp into that creamy, saturated, bluesy overdriven tone that I like.  I'm not a high gain guy, and lots of distortions designed to be amp-like don't really work well into an amp on the edge of break-up, and end up sounding more buzzy and fuzzy than I like.

As for old pedals that are not used or circuits that didn't get boxed, sometimes I harvest the components and use them on other builds.  And I don't think of the time spent building them was wasted in any way, as this has been journey of discovery.  In addition, sometimes I pull out an old pedal when I need a new or different tone and think "Hey, this really did sound pretty good!".
