Super Simple Blend circuit

Geiri
I've used the split n' blend circuit here on Tagboardeffects and it's great. However, I've tried it with a Keeley 4-knob comp and they don't get along at all so I looked for alternatives and found this little circuit that I did a layout from. I haven't tested it yet but will do tomorrow.

Here's the schematic:

Nice one. Love how small it is.

I haven't tested it yet. I had to spend the whole day working on enclosures but I should test it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it works!

Looks good Geiri!
I've used the split'n'blend with an old Laney reverb unit, and they don't play together that well, so hopefully this would work out.

I'm trying this out right now. I noticed that the 4.7K resistor should span one row higher so I'm going to fix the layout and try it out.

Takk fyrir Geiri, blend controls are great in bass pedals. I am building another ROG Ginger pedal at the moment, so I am going to fit this in as well.

Geiri,

Did it work out for you? Working on a couple of blend projects right now...

Oh yes it does work fine! However, don't use it with a Ross Compressor circuit (dynacomp, Keeley 4-knob) because that won't work. I've asked Mark to do a layout for a blend circuit that works with compressors.

Here's an updated and verified layout:

Interesting, I wonder what it is about compressors... is it an impedance problem? Would adding a buffer do the trick? Thanks for the update!

Hey mate, check the thread I made yesterday. It's a circuit that works with Ross compressor type circuits, it's also verified!

If I wanted to use this as a clean blend in a Big Muff how would I wire it?

Re: Super Simple Blend circuit

The "send" wire goes to the Big Muff board input.

The "return" wire (from "blend"pot lug 1) goes to the Big Muff board output.

A couple more questions:

Will that set up make all the way counterclockwise completely clean, straight up 50/50 blend and all the way clockwise completely fuzz?

it should be exactly as you exactly as you described, if not it would be all the way clockwise completely clean, and all the way counterclockwise completely fuzz.

also, just a suggestion i don't now how if this will happen with this circuit, but the transistor choice for the split n' blend is very important. i used 2n5457's and i had major volume drop approaching and directly in the center, but once they were changed to 2n5458's it works like a charm. so if you notice that there's a volume drop with the sweep try different transistors.

glad to help man

Good to know!

I just went ahead and picked up some J201's, so I should be good. If not I'll be sure to try some others.

Thanks!
