dude, great layout for a great pedal. i hope it's right, cause i would love to build that one. also, i wish INVSN would be coming to the US. they remind me of some great post-punk bands from the 80's, not to mention i would say we'd grab a drink.

That is one freaky pedal! The sounds got to me until I saw all the flashing lights
Yeah, 220, 221. Whatever it takes.

Love the pedal.
Yea, the band is really good. Has a sound like The Church, Echo & The Bunnymen or Psy Furs a bit. Great

I was thinking the same thing, also I heard a little joy division/new order in there too.

That looks a very interesting build. Possibly one for the future...
That INVS band sound good, shame I'm working late tonight :( Nice little club upstairs at the Barfly, should be a good one! |

I'm glad you folks like 'em! :)
The barfly show was great, too bad you missed it. They are a very hard working band. 95 shows so far this year. Two USA tours and two european tours. Plus alot of weekend shows and festivals. I tag along for the most part, but I don't really like touring at all. Hate to leave my dogs and girlfriend, and no time to build stuff. I actually bought a new laptop for this tour just so I could make vero layouts away from home.. :P So far I've done 12 of them.. including a couple of cool choruses and a phaser, but I need to look them over before I will share anything. :) The Tremshifter will be built as soon as I get home. Love the demo :) / Fredrik

Hey fellas,
I am a bit new to shopping for LDR by light/dark values. I was unsure by the wording if was calling for one between 2k and 24k or if it meant 2k thru 24k ? If it is the latter, which value is for light and which for dark. All I have ever purchased were the Ones from Tayda and there are no specs on their site. Also I am unsure how to check the values on what I have. Basicly I could use as much info as any is willing to supply me with. Thanx for another great pedal layout.

One other inquiry.
I was unable to find any of the listed IC's. All my searches brought up sex swings?.. Although it would be funny to have that show up in a parts delivery, I would like to find the ic or a suggested substitute. Thanx again

aaaand verified! Works perfectly :)
What a cool sounding pedal! Yes, TL072's is what I used in mine. As for the LDR's, the tayda ones are reported to work fine in this circuit. I tried a couple of different vactrols (because I'm lazy) and the VTL5C3 works great / Fredrik

I'm not sure what is going on with my build. Everything seems as if it should work but it doesn't. I have plenty of signal passing through, LEDS are reacting as they should to the pots, and the cap switch delivers a slight tone change. The problem is no tremolo and no filtering, Just slightly boosted clean signal. i will post a pic just in case it helps someone help me.

Not sure what's wrong, but definitely post pictures of the board (top & bottom), as well as the wiring to the lots, jacks, and switches. It's hard to help debug without seeing it. Hopefully we'll be able to help figure out the problem and get it up and running.

Forgot to mention I tried the mc1458 and the tl072 without success.
Here's the pics ![]()

One thing that could be the issue, upon taking a quick look is the LEDs with the LDR's need to be completely encased and covered, even the bottom. If some light is getting to it it will prevent it from doing it's job. Try covering it completely and see if that fixes it. I'll take a closer look when I have more time, but at least this can get you started and would be the easiest thing to check.

Ok.
I further isolated the LEDS and now have a subtle trem. but no filter. I will try to do a better isolation when I get home. I didn't have time to be as thorough as I'd could have. I had to run my boy to his soccer practice.

I have been measuring a few LDR's from Tayda, and I noticed that they differ alot.
So that could be the problem.. You need LDR with low maximum dark resistance. I never tried with LDR/LED combo though, only vactrols (which works great)
