Hi there,
my name is Stephan, living in Germany. I comment on the mainpage with the Google account of my band Iron & Stone. Started building pedals some years ago with building kits from musikding.de, found out about this page late last year and somehow my "want-to-build"-list went bonkers then. Also thanks for the support and help I got when troubleshooting my first built. |
Never posted in this thread I think, but today finally realised it's here...
So: Mat, currently located somewhere in Germany. Stumbled upon this fantastic site in late '15 I think and instantly realised I have to build 'em all Since then I spent way to much money on ordering strange little pieces of robot vomit I'd never thought I'd ever touch |
Also been lurking here a while. I'm based in London, UK bought my soldering iron about 9 months ago and try to do a little building when I get a free afternoon (not as often as I'd like).
It's tough getting started with this game. Almost all my successful builds so far have been from this site -- it's an amazing resource. I think without it I'd have thrown in the towel. So HUGE thanks are due to everyone who contributes here. Hope I can add something some day, but for now I'm still trying not to burn my fingers or put my ICs in backwards... |

I like a lot of people just now realized I haven't posted in here
My name is Dex, I am from the lovely Hazlehurst MS(birthplace of Robert Johnson). I've been dicking around with a soldering iron for about 10 years but only seriously got into pedals the past 4 years. I work at a 911 emergency management office at night so in my down time I like to turn on the iron and go berserk. This site along with fsb has literally kept me sane. Bad shit happens everyday and I hear about it all, so occupying my mind with frustrations about why the hell my phase 90 doesn't sound right really helps. Thanks to all who post on here and keep the lights on in places like this. |

Hi, I'm from France and currently a librarian.
I play in a rock band here named Bangkok Riviera. I recently discovered this site and made a few builds, mostly OD's and Fuzzes. To my surprise they all worked and I liked doing this a lot : you can get effects really suiting your tastes on the cheap. I have a bunch of things to test now !!! Any advices concerning arguing with my lovely wife for staying up late ? Thanks anyway |

Hi Piotr greetings from California
I don’t know much about Poland, but I love to go to the Dozynki celebration at the local Polish church every year. Love the pierogis, kielbasa, Zywiecs, and Polish ladies!! We would love to see photos of your builds, hear about your favorite (or least favorite) builds, chat about mods, gear, etc Hope you stick around! -Travis |

Damn Phil I should just send you some signed blank checks for the next PCBs. Never fails that you’re working on something that I’ve been wanting
Piotr that was AWESOME. Love that you’ve got your kids involved, love the creative way you decorate and modify the pedals, and love the track that you recorded. Now I want to build an Into the Unknown. Great work with that! |

Oh wow, the FSH is on my list as well - if you should put some of the boards up for sale I'm in!
By the way, Phil, the LAIKA is fantastic, yet unboxed and in state of testing different transistors, but already a killer! Hope do bring it up in the show your pedals thread soon Piotr - really cool video with perfect soundtrack! |
FYI, Madbean has a PCB available as well:

Hi Fellas!
My name is Gustavo, and I live in Brazil. Great site, great layouts and great people over here. My first attempts in building effects was back in early 2000's with the help of Tonepad layouts. I never had build anything on veros since the last week, thanks to this site. My number one and successful build was the H&K Red Box Clasic, ironically a non-effect project. Can't wait to read all the interesting things this site provides, and I hope I become a hyperactive member soon, lol Cheers. Gustavo |

Hi all, I'm Steve and I'm in the UK. Started building pedals this year using some of the layouts on this site and really enjoying it.
Thanks to the guys who keep this site going for all the layouts, it's a really valuable resource. I'll chuck some pics of my builds in the appropriate section. Cheers :) |

Hi. I'm Paul. I live in the UK.
I first began tinkering with pedals back in the early 2000s, but only kept it up for a year or so. I started building again at the start of this year. A few highlights of the year so far: EQD hummingbird Green Russian BMP Sunn Model T preamp Deep blue delay 59 sound Red llama Timmy |

Hi Folks, Like the man above, I'm Paul and I live in the UK. I repair guitars for a living so I have a workshop full of useful tools. Apart from that I have recently taken my first few steps into building vero pedals after building a few kits. My progress so far is: Fuzzdog Ampeg Scrambler kit - success! Parasit Studios Into The Unknown kit - success! Parasit Studios Raygun Youth kit - success! - - - - - Devi Ever OK (1st attempt) - Fail! (I thought I'd start with something simple) Devi Ever OK (2nd attempt) - Fail! (at this point I gave up and stripped the boards, but I will go back sometime soon to see where I went wrong) Devi Ever Electric Brown - success! (I was getting quite gloomy about the OKs so tried a new board to see if the pots, jacks etc. were ok, they were) Mid-Fi Random Number Generator - success! Devi Ever Hyperion 2 - Fail! (this time I found the problem - I'd missed a cut and put a capacitor across three rows instead of four) followed by success! I'm slowly acquiring plenty of components, testing equipment etc. and I have a wish list which should keep me busy for the rest of the year :) |

Hi everybody!
I am Costas and live in Athens Greece. I'm a sales person and when I was a kid I always wanted boxes with lights, knobs, pots etc doing something. I don't know, not just blinking lights. I wanted to be something that it isn't just for show. It should do something! Anyway. As a kid I didn't involve in electronics or electricity (even if I blew my share of fuses ) and got to static models, planes, cars, and so on. I finally grew up, well that what the calendar says, and got involved with...Synths! Blinking lights and all, doing something. Making noise and sometimes music! When I got a fully analog monophonic synth I was amazed with the deepness of the sound, but very soon I wanted more. A pedal maybe? An Echo, a reverb, a delay, an octaver, a modulator? And that's how I started snooping around the internet for infos. And there it was! A blog that I could make my own "models" with blinking lights, switches, pots, pots, knobs, that weren't just for show! They are not static, they DO SOMETHING, I can hear it! So! I am not a musician, a producer, or anything like that. I am a hobbyist and I'm grateful for all the things you give through the blog and the forum. Oh! My first build was the Deep Blue Delay (success, after a nasty antistatic-conductive foam that the board was resting and sorted everything). Second was the Magnus Modulus (relative success, some noise, I'll get back to it...maybe) and now next is the Boss Chorus. Thanks mates! |

Well I have lurked enough time and I guess its time for an intro.
I am Petros, from Greece, long time tinkerer of stuff. Got into computer tinkering first, then became a musician. I stumbled upon diy pedal build sites such as this and got a bit intrigued. Plus I wanted to learn about electronic circuits and soldering - what better application than building your own pedals? :) Big newbie with these things, and I wouldn't say I'm a handyman of sorts. After a lot of breadboarding, I've built one pedal (the Rollfuzz) on PCB. It was kind of a mess but it worked. Incidentally Found a veroboard layout for the same effect from Kinski in the forum and tried my hand at it. Haven't got it to work yet, but I'm sure I will, eventually! A big thanks to you guys for all the info, it is REALLY helpful for a complete amateur like me :) Rock on! |

Hi folks!
I'm Topi from Finland. About three years ago I kind-of-accidentally stumbled on this site and since then it's been an interesting journey of building pedals and paying shitloads of money to a local music electronics shop. I've built about a hundred effects from this site (both main page & the forum included) plus a few more from another sources. My knowledge of electronics in general is still quite limited but I've learned a lot from this extremely addictive building hobby. I'd like to thank everybody here who's been posting layouts and contributed well-worthy information, very nice community indeed! I've been thinking about writing some build reports of my pedals to the appropriate threads in case someone finds it useful in their builds. So during this ongoing year, whenever I have time, I shall do some reporting. Until then, happy building y'all! |
