This is definitely something that needs to be done on PCB. It's something I've dreamed about forever, but since I can't even figure out how to use Eagle at all it's way over my head lol

If someone wants to work on a PCB layout I'm happy to help in whatever way possible, whether that's helping to pay for a batch of PCBs or testing or whatever.

One thing I gotta say is that it will be important to use the buffers to avoid ticking issues. I have the original Phasor II and the buffer is awesome. I built a clone without the buffer and didn't get ticking issues, but I see many, if not most people have ticking issues when they omit the buffering

If we could make a PCB with board mounted pots and switches, this would be the most amazing phaser build ever!!!

The issues for me will be identifying parts and the off board stuff.

I'll put up the schematics that I've found to see if they make sense.

i found this site awhile ago when i was looking at trying to figure out how to make one. it has the schematic for each of the 3 main parts, the sweep generators, power supply, and filters.

1st question

What sort of transformer do i need here?  My eagle library suggests something from mouser in the 42T series but i haven't got a clue.

Isn't that transformer just going from mains to pedal power? I guess if there's a known ticking issue then stepping up with a charge pump is probably a bad idea, unless you've got it three streets away hidden behind a few doors. Could you not compromise and use a 18/24 dc volt input to split into the regulators?

Edit: Looking at the voltages mentioned I think it is the wall power being scaled down.

With the Phasor II clones we've been doing, the 7660S is fine and the stock buffer will avoid ticking issues. My concern is current consumption for something as complicated as the biphase, I'm not sure if the standard charge pump ICs can handle it. We'd need to get an idea of the current consumption but I may be over estimating the current consumption of the additional active components. It may just work out to where the transformer is the best option

I'll leave that till later then.  I've made a start on the effect schematic and I got about half way through last night,  I've also began to write out the BOM so I can cross check whats on the circuit

This is going to need some serious checking before I attempt the board layout I think.

Oh yeah dude post it for sure! I can't say I'll give you a definitive answer right away, but I'll look, and I'm sure others will too!

I've just about finished the schematics for this in Eagle but I'm having a bit of a fun time figuring out the off board wiring,  particularly the wiring between the power, effects and control boards.

I also can't figure out the J6 (the external pedal switch)  pins 4 and 5 seem to be used for an external expression pedal but I can't find where on the schematics they are attached.
Also the gnd pin on the pedal seems to ground through the corresponding pin on the control board,  does this go through the 1M resistor or is there something I'm missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
