Here's the planned layout for my latest Maxon OD820.

My wife hates it, is it really that bad?

And the original I was throwing a bone to.

For me it's a go but my wife too doesn't really like my graphics... I'm maybe not the best judge

Amazing! What do you think of the BS/SS Mini?

it's awesome for guitar or BASS. I have an original in a 125B with top jacks but wanted to have a 1590B top jack version too.

After weeks of work, my modular is finally compete (or at least the case is finally full)! I've still got modules I'm working on that will be switched out, but I can get a good range of sounds from what's going on in here. If you look closely you'll see a few guitar effects repurposed for synthesizer. Everything is eurorack standard size, but running off of a castle rocktronics designed 9v power supply, with all of the CMOS modules taken down to 5v with a regulator. Boards are held in place with stiff wire from the offoard wiring.

This has been and continues to be a super fun and rewarding project. If anyone wants more info on the modules or wants me to post a layout for anything, just let me know!

Very nice! I agree the Mini is awesome for guitar or bass. It has a lot of clarity, range, and the breakup is natural and not fizzy like most op amp based ODs.

You can use it totally clean as a preamp all the way up to pretty fuzzy OD. The tone controls are passive and simple. Treble is just a low pass filter and bass is like the input cap blend we use with Rangemasters all the time. Sounds really nice as a preamp for recording bass DI

Like John and Travis told us that the BS SS overdrive was really , I wanted to try it. And I want to thank you because I love it. I was looking for an overdrive for a while now (and lot of builds). Also thank to John, I never think that it was possible to have the jacks and DC jack top mounted on a B Box.

Hey Travis, or anyone else, have you built both the SS/BS Mini and the CB SFT II? If so, how do these two circuits compare?

Mao, I think the design looks great, especially how you play off the original.

I know Travis posted the pedal he built for when he and I had pedalgedon while me met up during my honeymoon and the Mrs. and I were in Cali. I made these 2 and brought for the occasion.

The Omega - a V3 big muff, but a super rare variant I got to try out in NYC. Has matched and selected BC239C transistors, and is much clearer then other muff I've played.

The Coven Tree - based on the Guild Foxey Lady. Uses BC549C transistors, and has a touch less gain, and a different tonestack so there's less mid notch in the tonestack.

This one I just finished tonight. I wanted to finish it for the event, but wanted to play with it a bit more belfry buttoning it up.

Winter's Wolves - my own take on the big muff. Sort of a cross between the Russian Green  muff and Guild Foxey Lady, smooth and bassy like the Russian, but has more gain on tap. Uses Sorted and matched NOS ME4003 transistors and NOS Russian D223 diodes.

It still boggles me how large the modification space available for Muffs is. Nice builds man. Your Winter's Wolves kind of sounds like it's in a similar vein to my Purple Dragon Muff (I've internally rebranded all my stuff so I'm calling it the "Wyvern" now but that's beside the point lol). It really is a fun combination.

The muff still amazes me at how easily it can be modified, and how the smallest change can make a massive difference. I'm planning on building the purple dragon you posted, this was just something I was messing with on the breadboard for shits and giggles, and had to build it.

I'm actually quite interested on what you did with the Omega. Can you share or is that a trade secret? haha

Sadowsky bass preamp.  Played it at very low volumes tonight and it added some great grit to my bass tone!
