DBA Reverberation Machine and Fuzzhugger Ab-Synth. Some of the paint cracked on the Ab-Synth as the clear dried but I like it too much to really care

I was just watching old posting, and this beauty appeared.
How did you do that lettering, Travis?
It's awesome. Some kind of rubber stamp?

Thanks a lot.

It sounds really good! Pretty much just a MKIII Bender but it's juicy

Thanks, it is a rubber stamp with StazOn ink. Here's another one (really old) that I did this way

Here's a Vox Tone Bender clone with OC75 and OC84 like the Sola Sound El Diablo. Unfortunately I scratched the enclosure with my screwdriver while screwing in the standoffs!

Travis,  that's cool!

My wife recently got into this whole stamping thing and when i saw the stuff that she was doing i immediately thought "hey, that would look kinda cool on a pedal!"

did you have to clearcoat the stazon or is it strong enough to not need it?

i might need to dip into her stash when she's not looking ;)

Thanks Tim.

The durability of the ink depends on the surface it is stamped on. It will usually work well on porous or matte finishes without a clear coat.

It doesn't work as well with high gloss finishes, especially powder coats where the ink will not penetrate the finish. With paints the ink tends to melt into the finish slightly and is more permanent.

The clear lacquer that I have used also melts the ink slightly

I used mpsa42 and 2n4401.

I usually keep the white plastic stomp washer on and label the controls, but since its one of your paint jobs i thought I'd bite your style a little bit

The samp looks great, very mid-fi. I've been thinking of trying that.  Did you get the stamps custom made?

I also use stazon with stamps. Works very well and I like the aesthetic. you can get different color stazon inks as well.

One word of advice, if you use this ink, have a wet cloth near by. If you mess up a stamp, you can wipe off the ink if you do it right away.

Haha well done buddy!

I got the letter stamps at staples or office max or something like that. It comes with a pad with a bunch of little letters that you put on the stamper. It's kindof a pain to change the words but whateva. If you were to do the same stamp over and over it would be best to get one custom made.

I've gotten some other stamps and other colored inks from arts and crafts stores too
