Nice one Bogey!! Super clean build! I've built a couple barbershops too and I dig em

John, is that your own PCB design or did you buy that one?

Thanks for the compliments guys

Mug that Tremshifter looks cool (I may put one on my ridiculously long build list),

Re: Your misplaced hole.....you could use an electricians blanking grommet;
or as I have done on an old acoustic I managed to poke a hole in simply glue your favourite kind of plectrum over it.

Also Travis that tube build is sweet...even by your standards.
I think the cloth covered wire just looks so good.....Where do you get that?

And whilst i'm asking does anybody know where to get stainless steel washers to replace the nylon ones that come with 3PDT footswitches?

bogey, I usually get the metal washers here, but they are currently out of stock.

Looks like smallbear has them for a much higher price.

yea. i've been waiting for them to come back in stock so i can switch over from the plastic washer. i don't have an issue with it as it protects the finish and has some shock resistance, but it does look nicer without it.

Bogey thanks a lot bud! I got a bunch of cloth covered wire for my amp build and now the tube project I'm currently working on (Revibe). You can get it from a bunch of places. I don't know of one in Eu but in the States I have bought it from triode electronics, mojotone, and Weber. The cloth covered wire from all three sources is solid core, which I like, but I know some don't. Get the 20AWG stuff

I really dislike the plastic washers and never use them. My advice is to get way more of the metal washers than you think you'll need because I'm always running out. I've bought those from bitches love my switches, pedal parts plus, smallbear, and now mojotone. The ones from PPP are probably the nicest, the ones from smallbear are really big compared to the normal ones.

Re the misplaced hole. I have done that in the past and I superglued a penny over the hole

Thanks for the replies fellas; unfortunately the shipping costs to the UK (and the weak exchange rate) make it impractical to order from your suggested suppliers........and so my search continues.

Thanks again for trying to help out anyway

Hey Bogey I think you should be able to find it relatively easily if you search by the dimensions. The inner diameter should be 12MM or 15/32", the outer diameter can be whatever you like.

Try searching eBay for something like "stainless washer m12"

Yeah I've got some on order from rs components here in the uk (i.d 12.5mm/ o.d 22mm).

I just don't think they'll look as nice as the thin stamped type I've seen elsewhere.

They should be here tomorrow and were only cheap, so i'll see what they're like and report back.

When I say cheap that's not strictly true as I ended up ordering shitloads of other stuff I didn't really need.

It can be expensive this cheap hobby of ours.

EBMM stingray preamp, but modified to give greater than unity gain.  I found that the stock version barely gave unity gain when the volume was dimed.

I managed to sneak this build in the other day, a Germanium Giant that had been waiting for an enclosure for months. I just tossed it in a cheap Tayda 1590B, no finish or messing about. Input caps upped for bass, 2SA49 transistor and 1N34A diodes with an inverter, with a microcontroller-driven soft-latch. Sounds super nice, happy with how it turned out.

Orange knobs rock! Great design
Especially like the washer/bezel combo.
Is that one of those switches with short levers I think I've seen on some Johnk's builds too... Where do you get those?

Re: Show your pedal guts!

Thanks

The switch is a normal dpdt switch.  If you want the shirt shaft models, BLMS sells them.

Re orange knobs, I honestly can't remember where I got them!  I've checked all of the places that I usually order from but none of them have orange 1611 knobs :( tayda, blms, smallbear, etc

Edit:  I found the original invoice. I got them thru smallbear.

Your build looks great Silver Blues! I am always interested to see how all you guys lately are implementing relay bypasses. Do you have any more information on the microcontroller-driven soft-latch? I don't believe i saw that anywhere here on the forum. That would require a little bit of coding too i believe? Thanks in advance!

Re: Show your pedal guts!

Hey, thanks! Yeah I love relay bypass, as you may have been able to tell from my post history. I sure do have more information, I actually wrote a guide on soft-latch bypass not too long ago that you might be interested in having a look at; also, here is the original thread on FSB (including the code) for the system. It's not too much of a hassle at all, I actually just finished rehousing the Arduino Uno I use for programming them in a nicer box and with cleaner wiring:

Works excellently and is really low parts count, I think you'll like it.
