Stereo clone theory with switchable stereo mode and relay bypass. (Was still waiting for the customer to decide on the LED colour so I haven't connected it yet)

The best feeling in the world is when you power it on for the very first time and all of the trimpots are set properly and you don't need to adjust anything :). I think that just used up my allotment of good luck for the rest of the year lol

Looks great! I'm building it too, but keep running into values I don't have. (why order all parts at once if you can do it step by step :( )

What size is that enclosure? ( Not at all because I might want to steal your template ;p )

Re: Show your pedal guts!

Sensei Tim
It's a 1590xx enclosure.

I finished this pretty late last night so I didn't get much of a chance to fiddle with it but there seems to be a big volume difference between mono and stereo, even when I max the level on the stereo daughterboard. I'll have to tinker a bit more.  Also wondering if it might be wise to add a ground lift switch on the 2nd output?

I have another one that I'm building for myself soon

Not a complete gutshot but... I wanted to do something other than what I have been so I opted to go back to basics. Last time I did a vero was just about 2 years ago. So tonight's build; Hipkitty Oxblood Distortion.

I tried the 2k2 resistor mention in the build notes off the main page, to spuddery for my likes and the trim didn't really help. I went with a 5k1, then a 8k2 and finally settled on a 9k1. This put me as close to the original 10k resistor, kept the tone near what it ought to be, gave me plenty of boost and removed the spudder. Nice build and tone for a strat!

Anyways - Here's the build so far...

Yeah, 220, 221. Whatever it takes.

I was gonna wait for this til i got it working cause it's a little ambitious, but until i identify certain components i'm on stop, so i thought i'd post a few pictures and see what people's thoughts are...

Fulltone OCD clone. I chose it mostly for what it does, but also the board and components are all relatively small, and obviously, for this build small is good.

Jacks will be on the back seat, 9v under the wheel arch. It was a tight fit, but i can do this.... If it works, i'm gonna put a big muff inside a police car and call it "the fuzz"

Cool, what diode setup did you select?

Re: Show your pedal guts!

Sensei Tim
just the standard 1n4148 diodes.  I should experiment with different ones, but i find this works great for what i use it for - more of a clean boost than an OD.

Cool El Diablo, just be sure you have the emergency brake on so you don't slip on the car like a banana :0)

Yeas, sorry Sensei, didn't see the gut shot on my phone, I see them now.

I usually prefer red LED for OD clippers, but also settled on the 1n4148s in the Timmy. Had tried 1n5711s too.

Not crazy about it though, may I ask the setup you are using it with?

Re: Show your pedal guts!

when i use it it's with the drive around 9 o'clock and the level up around 3 o'clock.  I alternate between this and a klon as my boost of choice.

I run a humbucker equipped guitar into an EVH 5153 100 watt or a mesa mark V.

Hahaha, yeah, that was my first thought funnily enough...

I kinda stole the idea from the Dr. No effects "ford falcon fuzz". I thought it was a cool idea and decided "i can do that".... I managed, but it was a struggle, and a bit too ambitious for my first pedal i think...

Building the board and wiring the effect was relatively easy, the hard part was making everything fit. Safe to say, my next one will be in a 1590!!!!

Anyway, here she is.

finally had time to build for myself. this is something that's been sitting and waiting for something like 3yrs. it's an original Colorsound PhazeX enclosure, build date Sept 14, 1977, that had been stripped and left for dead. i rebuilt the PhazeX on stripboard, used enclosed neutrik jacks similar to the original, and NOS TI MC1458 ICs. the only thing i did differently is put the 2 trimmers as internal pots so i can make as many adjustments as i want and not really worry about killing the trimmers. one of the best phasers i've every heard, 2nd only to the mutron phaser.

Started this build late last year. Finished up the pedal this evening.
PCB is my own design. This turned out really nice. Feedback adds a nice "shimmer" effect Not quite the same as a dsp pedal but nice nonetheless and without the price tag ;)

Gutshot and front.

I really enjoy seeing the builds on this page pop up in my inbox. Been busy with uni so hadn't built anything for about 3 months. I'm getting addicted to 1590a builds. Here's my latest, Fuzzolo
