Re: Show your pedal guts!

Sensei Tim
That's what people keep telling me.   In my previous life i used to do a lot of wet etching for semiconductor devices and an etch with blowouts like that was unacceptable.

I'm still messing with getting the right recipe for the toner transfer. I tried printing onto parchment paper the other day and if you blow on it hard enough the toner will fly off.  Now i gotta see if I can actually place it on an enclosure or PCB without destroying the print.

I have 5 more of these to etch and build :o

Ahh nothing to be intimidated by, I think everyone does a good job, just have to be brave and post. Lol

Don't sell yourself short, that's a damn good looking build. Makes me want to go back into mine and do some mods on it. I just did the rate pot, and switch to give 2 flavors of chorus, stock and warm.

Finally built something I feel is worth showing.
It's a Timmy with a built-in huminator!

Got really worked up on that, because it fired up right away from the first try and painting and decals came out really nice.

I still need a little work wiring the insides (especially the 3pdt)...
Thank you guys for showing me the way to do this!

Great job man. Very neat insides, and I love the decal. Now you just need the lords of the underworld pedal to how with it.

Those are sweet, Tim!

Here's a SCB MKII Bender in a 1590B. Transistors are mullard OC84. This one has tons of gain and harmonics, and cleans up very well for a MKII

Probably the most difficult build I've done and actually one of the neatest... my Way Huge AquaPuss. I used the Layout from Sabrotone, worked great and fired up right away. I wish I would have taken more care measuring for everything. I would have spread the jacks further apart and move the footswitch closer to the edge. It all fits pretty well though, unfortunately I needed some tape to insulate it. Hand painted enclosure.

Sheeeeeeeeeee-it, you're a better man than me.  I've got that same layout and all the mods laying around and haven;t even considered trying it yet.

It was pretty intimidating but not as much as some of Alex' layouts. I tried the modulation add on and didn't care for it, it made it sound like the Pitch Pirate which I wasn't took crazy about. I would like to add the double depth board.

That looks awesome dude! I love the artwork and knobs! Really nice work

I just boxed up this Marshall Supa Fuzz clone today. This version is based on the MKI but the fuzz control is fixed at max and replaced with a filter.

Wow, nice wiring Travis!

What's your secret with the heat shrink looking so clean?

Where did you get that shielded wire? What gauge is that?

am liking the hot clone theory action, tim and john. i far prefer etched and inked in enclosures to painted. tim you are mad to be disappointed with the unknown pleasure graphic, as already said, the blips it makes it look one-off and artisan. like van gogh smudges. perfection is overrated.

recently finished the lectrix fx celeste clone and fired it up on friday. some lovely metallic chorus tones, kind of like it as it is in a way. pre-biased, but think i would like to hear it biased properly too. do you have any words of wisdom re biasing these?

btw john, what are those flangeless moog knobs you are using on your megalith and improbability drive called? and where did you find them? as my builds get more complex and rise up the knobbage index i'm increasingly suffering from a glut of flange and need to take evasive action. they look like a neat way out. and really suit the minimal look you've got and i'm aiming for.

Thanks. I'm not really using any tricks with the heat shrink, I just slide it on and shrink it.

I got the shielded wire off eBay but I'm not seeing it on there right now. Check eBay though and there's lots of stuff available

Tabbycat - those knobs are usually called skirtless boss knobs, you can get them at mammoth. Personally I avoid mammoth at all cost, but I don't know of another place to get those knobs
