RE: Show your pedal guts!

I've just found a guy who will laser cut me some 25mm dia. x 3mm thick washers at a reasonable price. I'm going to order 10 and see if this works or not, and if it looks any good or not!

Here's hoping.

Yeah it's going to take some experimentation.

Not perfect, first time using waterslide decal, you can see it shrank a bit on the sides but oh well... :)

Fantastic build as always, John!

Question for you:  you seem to crank out a lot of polished enclosures.  Do you use a sander to get the finish?  What grit do you take the finishes to?

Madbean's Sharkfin

Couple of firsts for me: Mounting LEDs without a bezel (may never go back!) and letting the natural unpolished finish of the enclosure show through. Reminds me of the older EHX pedals.

FWIW, the Sharkfin as an auto-wah is superb. The sample and hold feature is just a bonus. For me, the magic is in the filter's response. Highly recommended!

And this PCB would have fit in a 125B had I used a 3PDT toggle for the Sample/Hold switch.

Yep, this is a fun pedal, though I did end up adding a wet/dry blend knob for the sample/hold effect to make it more versatile.

Beautiful job all around, btw.

Thanks Health! Would you mind shooting me a note on how you implemented the wet/dry mod?

It's been a while and the pedal is not in hand, but I believe I used this:

http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2012/02/split-n-blend.html

I used it so I could sort of "vary" the intensity of the effect from full on to my guitar sound with some subtle "sparkles" shooting off it.

The way that layout is done, it can be built easily as a separate pedal if you want to build it that way to test it out first.  Makes a GREAT utility pedal, especially if you play bass, too.

Madbean's Nautilus

Not sure how the little dent towards the bottom left got there. But it's bugging me, may have to try to fill it and sand it down.

A little to close for comfort with the 3 DPDTs. Just barely fit.

Some of the gutshots in this thread look spectacular.  The only thing I serve up is spaghetti - and I serve it inside every build!  That being said, since I only build pedals for myself - that's fine by me.

This is the Gorgosaurus.  It is a Beavis Audio Fuzz Lab Jr.  My favorite part is probably the LED indicator (the eye of the big dinosaur).  This is more of a "mess with all the knobs for hours" type of effect (for me anyway) so I used a 3PDT toggle instead of a stomp switch as it will probably be on top of my amp most of the time.

I'll need to do a bit more knob twisting to really run through it, but so far I love it.

Considering how much is crammed in there, that's pretty neat.

Love the dinosaurs, love the voltage meter. Nice work.

My latest build. A phase 45. Need a better knob. Rate led is on a switch as it bugged me that it blinked when the pedal is bypassed.

here's a pretty heavily modified rat with an LM308 chip. etched 1590B enclosure with all top jacks, 3 clipping options, a mid cut control, a Jfet boost on the output and a relayed true bypass:
