Nice one MAO! How does it sound?

Is this supposed to be based on the big black maestro phaser or the gray one with the foot knobs?

I'm not sure which, maybe David Rolo mentions it on one of the other forums.

Mine sounds similar to David's youtube video, only the square wave shape has some ticking. Couldn't eliminate it without squashing the life out of the square shape. But the sine, triangle, up ramp, down ramp are tick free and the random sounds fine even though there is an occasional tick.

I did leave in the square wave option on mine, I ended up adding a 47n cap to ground between the bias pot and the LEDS which is switched in only when using the square wave (making use of the unused side of the 2P4T rotary) I modified the board somewhat and added the sockets to the right of the top most LED/LDR in the pic I posted (although the socket is empty in the picture).

On the next one I build, I may re-design the stage switch select  4,5, or 6 swept stages rather than the current 2,4,6 option. I like the tone/filter change you get with the 5/6 switch in the madbean Stage Fright.

thye madbean stage fright is based on the 70's wedge one with the 'foot controlled pots' on the sides.

I built one in a 125B:

the PSA-1 is Maestro's first and larger one with 3 rocker switches (and no knobs!),  I  built one of those in a 1590BB using my own PCB that is almost identical to the original's layout:

Oops, sorry Travis, I thought you were asking about the Liquid Mercury.

The Stage Fright sounds great! I like it both stock and with the vibe cap values.

When I get a chance, I'm going to see if the Craig Anderton Envelope Follower can be used to control the phasing, if that works out well it should be something special.

Those have gotta be the most badass graphics anyone's put on a Klone

I really don't want to be rude but you've got the footswitch hardware all donked up. The lock washer (the washer with teeth) goes inside the enclosure between the switch and the enclosure. The teeth "bite" into the perimeter of the drilled hole keeping the switch more secure. The white plastic washer goes in the trash (ok actually this is just my opinion  ).

Travis: good eye!  i see you have some OCD like i do.  I noticed that the switch was crooked after I took the photo.. by then it was too late :)

I hate having the washer there too, but I've found that if i don't have the washer there, the nut can/will tear up the waterslide decal. :-/

WTF there's a site called 3pdt.com?

That's actually kind of awesome. And the acrylic washers are a great idea.

Yep, they have some decent stuff, too.  One weird thing is, if I try to go to 3pdt.com I get an error, but www.3pdt.com goes there fine.

I'm sure there's a blindingly obvious reason for that to people smarter than me, but figured I'd mention it in case someone tried to go to 3pdt.com, got an error, and thought "Heath is SUCH an asshole!"

For the record, I've bought some things from them and was mostly very happy with it:

Acrylic washer/rings (these are just neat and the reason I found this site initially)
3pdt wiring boards (pretty decent!  $0.90 each and he even has holes drilled for the wires to come through and then to the soldering pad or stress relief on the wires)
Germanium PNP Transistors (hfe 100 - 150, some Asian variety, none were within that HFE range or even really close, I do not recommend)
Small Clone stereo chorus PCB (very good)
Small Stone phaser PCB (very good)

These aren't as cool as the ones heath posted, but here's what I use on any build that isn't white. http://bitcheslovemyswitches.com/#!/Metal-Footswitch-Washer-BAG-OF-10/p/26629491/category=5027572
They're why thinner and have a smaller diameter than the white plastic ones.  For us on the left side of the atlantic, the shipping is fast and cheap.

I've just had an idea - if it is  possible to get the LED close enough to the shaft of the 3PDT footswitch (i.e. mounted under the acrylic washer), it could be possible to get the whole of those clear acrylic washers to light up when the pedal is engaged. Which might look pretty cool.

Maybe something to try out Heath!

Dude, get some smd LEDs, mount them right under the the acrylic ring (or wedge it in there somewhere, they're tiny) and you can do some crazy shit without having to drill holes for 3mm and 5mm LEDs.

I really like the idea of a light up stompswitch ring, though.  I WILL be trying this soon.  I just have to get back in a pedal building mood.  I built so damn many I got burned out.  I can kind of feel the urge creeping back, though.

I once lined the inside of one of those cylindrical tube protectors with blue smd LEDSs attached to the 3pdt, and it was almost blinding :D (then again, I wired about 12 of those suckers in there).

I've just found a place in the UK that will laser cut acrylic washers any size you want, so I'm getting them to quote me for 25mm dia, 3mm thick washers. those should make it easier to get the LED in, and have a larger lit area, which I reckon will look better.

Will keep you posted.

That is a cool idea. I'd like to see that done.

Those kinds of little metal washers come with the momentary switches called for by soft-latch bypass systems and they're really nice and sleek.

i like the idea of the glowing washer. makes 1 less hole to drill, and can make some enclosure designs much sleeker.

You'd still have to drill a hole for the LED, it would just be hidden under the washer, no?

I'm thinking you'll see one bright spot instead of the whole washer glowing uniformly, but I like the concept
