1973 Rams Head "Violet" Big muff.
Used the rams head layout and built a violet from there.
I threw 4 random bc550s and I´m not touching this thing anymore, cause it sounds terrific.
1590b enclosure with a battery, so it´s pretty tight in there.

Acoustic 370  power amp (using the original schematic with NOS original transistors), but scaled down to pedal output level. the main PCB runs on +18V and the input gain amp on +18V & -18V with internal voltage charge pump converter.

Very cool builds Ian and John!! That Arcadiator is just awesome with the graphics and all of the lights and colors. The 370 is a cool homage to Acoustic, and I like that you snuck some ME4003 (?) in there too

the 'button tops' are actually 2N4248's as used in the original (they're PNP's).

Two of the pedals I've been working on this week.

Ge brassmaster:

Si brassmaster:

Both have nos russian diodes that look like bombs that add to the mojo. Both are fucking monsters. The Ge one is smoother and the more compressed, while the Si one is more cutting and had a more obvious octave up. I may play with the transistors in the Ge one and see what swapping in a Ge transistor will do and where's the best place, but for now absolutely love them both.

Got to say these had the worst offboard wiring ever. Took forever and a bitch to get neat. Not 100% happy with the neatness of these, but it will do for now.

Love the sliders. How did you do them? They look fantastic.

Re: Show your pedal guts!

thanks!

i was digging thru my (really) old parts bin and I actually found a set of original Acoustic (Artted brand) inductors for the 370 so I installed them in it so now it's an exact reproduction of the the original 370 preamp:

Too damn cool!

How did you cut the lines for the sliders?

I drilled a small hole at each end and used a dremel with a cutoff wheel to connect them. then I used a small & thin jeweler's file to widen them to accommodate the sliders.

Here I'm thinking my latest builds have come a long way, then I see JohnK's and realize I've still got a long way to go!

Reminds me when I was a teenager and thought I played well enough to be a rock star, then I saw Van Halen...
