I see your point. Especially because the light is only really so you can check that power is on. It doesn't turn off unless it's unplugged. I stocked up on the lenses so I kinda just use them a lot.

I was playing with the buffer > crunch box (powered at 18v from the courtesy outlet) and it sounded better to my ears.

The Sonice Reducer. A aliaser / bit crusher.
You can read more about it in the contributions section here.

Nothing special on the insides. But i'm very happy with the etch. :)

edit. I don't know why the images looks like crap when I uploaded them here.
The colours and details are all messed up :P

Rocket from the Tombs - way to go Fredrik. Looks great, sounds greater. The best bit crusher I have ever heard. Nice job!

Haha true.

Also nice to know I'm not the only one that makes index marks in the corners of my boards

SHO with master volume built for a friend. I didn't have any 9V1 Zeners left so I made a little layout for the original version without the Zener. Hope you're not too offended by the standing resistors :P

Meh, nothing I'm proud of really but I don't build much on vero anymore so I figured I'd still post a photo of it. It's a King of Tone. As you may see, I've hog glued the whole backside of the board. I find it quite reliable. I only do it once the pedal has been tested and confirmed working well. Once I box it up, I put a few dots of hot glue on the circuit and close it up. The glue sticks to the lid so the whole thing stays steady and nice.

I only do this when the circuit won't fit nicely with components facing up. If I'm building something small and neat, I'll glue the circuit to the back of a pot and keep it neat.

That sheet of hot glue is mesmerizing *o*

I have now spent way too much time staring at your pic wondering how you made one glob spread like that. Plus the way the light is reflecting looks pretty sweet

Anyway, I built this Rangemaster yesterday with a much smaller amount of hot glue :P Alien hot dog cat artwork by my girlfriend.

If anyone wants to use the layout I made for this build I can post it up. It's got an onboard charge pump, bias trimmer, and two input caps for a blend or fat switch

I see the 4700pF is a polystyrene cap. I have a 47pF polystyrene in my Poinsettia build. I like them. Where do you get yours? I got mine because it was the only one they had that wasn't ceramic.

Silver - would the sound be any different if it were ceramic assuming the values to be the same?

Eh probably not. It's back to the whole debate about cap materials. I was just in it for the mojo factor to be honest

My girlfriend painted the artwork. I'm going to have to have her do more enclosures for me. I think I could just sell the pedals with artwork for a higher price and kick my girlfriend down some cash at the same time

Real dumb question for a sec. I'm not a computer person.. How do I convert the diylc file to a JPEG or whatever that I can put on photobucket?

Silver blues I got the polystyrene from none other than our Bulgarian partner.

RE: Show your pedal guts!

Oh neat I'll have to check that out.

There's an option in DIYLC called "export to PNG" and you can make PNG images to post places. That's what I've done. I don't know if any other file formats are supported.
