Thanks man. You're completely right about the styles of how we do our finishes. I was never one who could get water slides to work, even on model kits when I was younger, so I just avoid them like the plague. I love the simplicity of Travis's builds, not counting the alien hotdog cat which is even better in person btw, and have a ton of builds that are similar, not to mention ones that have scribbled on words for the pots like BJFE pedals.

I can't wait to hear what goodies you get. Remember, I warned you about the dangers of Ge.

That's super nice! The way the board is designed, you could build that pedal in minutes!

So what does it do?

It's a high gain distortion with an active tilt EQ and a passive treble control. It's easily capable of sweet low gain tones as well!

This is a new layout where I opted for everything board mounted and I wish I had done that a long time ago!

If it's anything like the rest of your builds, it's going to be super nice. Can't wait to see the outside as well.

this is the thread where i really feel i'm riding with the pros and so haven't paid my dues. some proper classy kit on display. many pretty boxes.

even the people who are super modest like ed are still way beyond anything i've attempted to date. don't be so modest ed, your build looks great to me.
i've got a degree in fine art and yet i think i'm pushing the boat out if i even put knobs on a build.

you all make me feel so laaaazy....

Damn, Geiri, that layout is so neat it's nuts.

Gotta love the tilt EQs, eh? I love them.
Through all the worry and pain we move on

Been pulling out circuit boards and finishing enclosures of my earlier builds. Here's some messy guts and poor layout planning from my second build.

Hadouken!

Used UV reactive paint for the Pabst Blue Rangemaster, but it seems to have bubbled through the clear coat from being cooked in the convection oven. Maybe it needed more drying time or less heat?

i see your Hadouken and raise you a......

but seriously, love the paint, and not bad for a second build. i tried to open the back of my second one and all i saw was a mass of green wire, so i quickly shut it before it could come out and go all over. it was like fucking Cthulhu coming to envelope the earth.

Haha, nice.

Yes, I will really have to brace myself with liquid courage to look inside my Green Ringer...

Ross Compressor, my third build and first attempt at a mod (switchable caps and a trimpot to set release time). Messy as all getup.

Awesome work on the finish. Which one of the high gain amp emulators do you like the best?

Re: Show your pedal guts!

Sensei Tim
I like them all ;) I think that all of the amp sims should be run at 18v. It gives them much more of an amp like feel.

My carvin legacy build didn't work. Not 100% sure why, tho. I may try to rebuild it at some point.

Jcm800 is great for those classic 80s tones (18v is a must!)

The slo 100 was ok. I Dunno, I think I was expecting more but was a bit let down.

Dr. Boogey is always a winner! Especially at 18v!

Diefet is thicker than the Dr boogie and the deep control is great! More bottom end thump and more saturation.

Seventheaven is another fave. Lots of flexibility in that one.

Mark iic+ from sabro's site is pretty good, but I don't think that I would build it again.

I have the parts in for the uberschall build. Maybe sometime in the next few weeks when I have time.  I had that uchi mata board and enclosure done for months before I had time tonight to put it all together.

I'm starting to wonder how some of these might sound at 24v or more...

I am also thinking about putting one or two of these into a 1u rack enclosure and use a remote footswitch to go between "channels" like the diefet and some kind of fender or vox  type sim for the clean channel, but I don't know where to get the rack components at a reasonable price....

Great work! Whereabouts are you Tim?

If you are in Europe, Musikding in Germany do them for 42 Euros, which is a pretty good price, or three for 32 Euros each, which is a great price. Either that or scour ebay - blank ones come up cheap and fairly often as surplus from studios.

This is something my son and I have been talking about doing - a bunch of amp sims in a rack case with mult-footswitch, to save on floor space.
